Statement of style and philosophy
Born 26th of July 1950
Walpeup Victoria, Australia
I grew up in the small Mallee town of Walpeup, situated in the north-western part of Victoria. Between the little desert to the south and the sunset country to the north, to some, it is indeed God's own country. At a very early age, my parents shaped my interest in the arts and the great Australian bush. I remember sitting around the breakfast table as a small child. The sun streaming in through the split bamboo blinds, with dad listening to the ABC breakfast show with Russ Ti-sane, when Romeo and Juliet came on the radio with the balcony scene, and dad carefully explained to us the love scene as it unfolds on the radio.
As a child, I played in the bush straight outside the door, gaining a great love and understanding of the nature of Australian outback. My father had a great passion for art and kept much-treasured art books of the impressionists, post-impressionists and some others. When I went to high school, I became aware of the surrealists, the expressionists and their philosophies and manifestos, and I was influenced by them for a while I developed my own style. I have long been inspired classical music composers also by the Australian singer John Williamson, with his great love and passion for the bush and its people

I am an Environmental Expressionist or a Biological Abstractionist with a truly unique style which comes from my deep and profound spiritual connection with the land. I have always been influenced by the rhymes of nature and the universe. The shapes, lines and colours draw you into the world of light and colour of the Australian lands. Light and colour reflecting in the symbolic shapes. Describing the Australian flora and fauna from the many mirrored moods, from the most delicate and fragile elements to the rugged and bold extremes, capturing them all.
My images are often multilayer, as I try to capture those delicate changes in season that bring with it an explosion of colour, from the soft colours of early morning to the deep rich colours of the fading evening light. As it is so with the changing of seasons, so the colour and light change yet again. I feel my works are about our existence in this very ancient land we inhabit. I want you to come to know her love and understand her as we should all do
